Before rehearsal starts, guitarist is strumming away at some tune in his own little world and he catches the grimace on my face. I ask if he has tuned. "Oh, no, no, no. Not yet." (He is trying to reassure me.)
"Ohhh, OK," I say, not hiding my relief. "As long as that is not post-tuning."
Trying to completely dismiss the problem (then relenting), he replies, "What? It has that rustic feel of . . . poor musicianship."
